I am Head of Subject and Associate Professor in geography at the University of Limerick. I also act as dissertation supervisor for the MSc GIS at Ulster University and I hold an honorary research fellowship at Queen’s University Belfast.

I am the co-PI on the IRC/AHRC funded project, OS200: Digitally Re-Mapping Ireland’s Ordnance Survey Heritage.

My research uses mixed method approaches, including geospatial technologies, to analyse and interpret early source material.  My current focus is on assessing map and map-maker connections in the early cartography of Ireland and Britain. I also have interests in the geographies of historic health and disease.

I am currently a J.B. Harley Fellow in the History of Cartography.

I am keen to hear from anyone interested in collaborating on projects related to the historical geography of the early modern, and the digital and spatial humanities.
